Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Visited a BOMA Toronto CDM Workshop

Scarborough, March 5, 2010 - The Building Owners and Manager's Association (BOMA) of Toronto held a workshop in Scarborough outlining the details of its Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Program.
Brad Duguid, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Scarborough Centre MPP, spoke to local owners and managers about the Ontario government's commitment to promoting energy efficiency and conservation in commercial and industrial properties.

Toronto, May 2010 - Successful conservation and demand management program will now be offered to LDCs across the province.
BOMA Toronto's Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Program is poised to expand outside of the 416 area code. According to Program Manager Wayne Proulx, a deal has been brokered with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) which will see the CDM Program offered to Local Distribution Companies (LDC).

The BOMA Toronto CDM Program Provides Incentives For Energy Saving Lighting Retrofits

Increasingly, commercial buildings in Canada are moving towards "green" lighting systems and for good reason – energy-efficient lighting retrofits reduce operating costs, while increasing the value of a building. Lighting retrofits, often result in reductions in energy use of 25 to 35 per cent But the question is, if it makes so much sense to retrofit, why aren’t more buildings doing it?

Conservation and Demand Management

September, 2009 - Widespread target setting for conservation and demand management seems imminent in Ontario. The new Green Energy Act empowers the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure to establish targets for local distribution companies (LDCs) and other entities licensed by the Ontario Energy Board, along with the authority to dictate a number of other conservation and energy efficiency measures.

BOMA throws support behind Ontario’s Green Energy Act

Toronto, ON, March 18, 2009 Last month, the province of Ontario tabled legislation aimed at making the province both a leader in renewable energy and energy conservation and the creator of a new, green economy. Premier McGuinty's Green Energy Act takes on some very important issues and, when passed, will ensure a substantial increase in renewable energy projects as a sustainable addition to the energy supply mix.
